How To Register With The Canadian Kennel Club Q&A

I want a pet quality puppy, should I still look for one that is legitimately registered?

My boyfriend & I have been wanting to get a puppy for a while but we're holding off for a while until we become a bit more financially stable and have a bit saved up (incase of any pet emergencies). So I'm taking this time to do a bit of research on the approximate costs of a puppy (including the actual cost of a puppy, supplies, vaccinations & vet visits, etc) and also how to take of one.

Anyways, from what I've seen, the only legitimate registries are AKC (American Kennel Club), UKC (United Kennel Club) & CKC (Canadian Kennel Club). But I only want a pet quality puppy to be there for me as a companion, not interested in any dog shows or anything, and I'm not even certain if I want a purebred or not, because it seems that mixed breeds are cheaper. If I go with a purebred, what are the advantages of having my future puppy registered?

Well if you go for a purebred, make sure you get it from a Pedigree Breeder. Depends how the breeder operates but they will give the dog vacinations that cover 3 types of illnesses, they also do checks like hips, heart shoulders etc. They'll also give you Registration Papers that are from the AKC, UKC, CKC, ANKC wherever you happen to be and it should give you the dogs Dam Sire, their Dam and Sire etc etc. Registered puppys don't really come with advantages from being Registered it just states they are purebred and come from a Pedigree breeder. Therefore if you wanted to show it, which you don't, it would be able to be a show depending if it has the right purebred qualities. It is also good to have them registered and microchipped incase they get away. They know where to find the owner and the documents and registration state that you own the dog and its Registered to a Kennel Council.
That's all i know, i'm not sure about how the laws work where you are though i'm guessing you arent in Australia! So yeah..

If you don't want to buy from a Pedigree Breeder than look at Shelters, Shelters often take in dogs that are purebred, but not all shelter dogs will come with Registration papers, most actually don't. The ones that do are often the ones that are handed over by people who have gotten them from a Pedigree Breeder and are handing the dog over for whatever reason. Best thing to do would be do your research like you are doing..

How To Register With The Canadian Kennel Club Q&A

How much trash is CCC? (Continental)?

I bought a pom few weeks ago and is AKC registered. But I am still getting emails from breeders I contacted the puppy pictures. I have noticed that many of the CKC registration status and when asked if Canada continental or many continental response. The pom ended up buying and I have full AKC did a lot of research on breeders after reading about the different kennel clubs. And then contact the AKC breeders who had not. suspended puppies My question is: bad are the other kennel clubs really? How is it true that all you need to register with the mainland is a photo of the puppy? Why do people bother with the other clubs? Do other clubs just to seem legit BYBs and mills? Would not it be then that the only clubs ober for the money too? Do you have shown? Parents would still be required to register a puppy? (I know it is required to AKC) thanks for the info, I was asking

While I agree with others about ConKC (not allowed to use because CKC Canadian Kennel Club sued and won) AKC registered pups is not a sign of quality. They are nothing more than a pedigree database. You need to base a breeder of quality dogs, the titles they have and the evidence health not only in your body for registry. Add apple juice is an idiot with a capital M that you can not register a dog with the AKC and CKC real with only images.
