i love golden retrievers but no thanks. i will certainly check out any near shelters before i look anywhere else. Pet stores will be my very last resort. Thanks everyone oh and Snickers, why did you go so crazy about giving a puppy as a present?
ok everyone. well mostly everyone. STOP acting like my boyfriend and i know nothing about dogs. ive had plenty of dogs growing up and so has he. Every single person that says i shouldn't give the dog as a gift has yet to give me a reason why. I asked a questiona dn that is the question i want answered. I didn't asked to be judged or scolded.
Check your local paper, where i live you find a lot of people who have them, and have just bred one litter, It is ok to give the puppy as a gift as long as he wants a puppy, and if he decides he doesn't you will take it yourself. You can also check the shelters, but the shelter dogs are not for everyone. People try to pressure you not to buy a puppy, just because u don't buy one doesn't mean they won't breed anymore, others will buy them, and they may not give them as good a home as your boyfriend.. As long as he wants one and you know he will take care of it go for it. Just make sure you inspect the place where the puppies are bred and living, that way you know you are not buying from a puppy mill. If they try to hide where they keep them, then find someone else to buy from. Hope this helps. And I don't need any comments from anyone, I have had dogs all my life, and rescued many of them, it is a personal choice whether or not to go to the shelter.
