How Hard Is It to Train a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever?

I own currently own a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and I've been thinking about purchasing a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Yes, I know, big jump, but a Toller fits my exercise schedule and I'm almost positive that they are the right dog for me.

Anyway, I have heard that Tollers are very smart, but I'm getting mixed answers on their train-ability. I found that my Cavalier was fairly easy to train, so I have had some experience with training dogs in obedience and agility.

So to get to the point, here is my question...

How hard on a scale of 1-10 is it to train a Toller?

If anyone had anymore info or suggestions on them, that would be great!

It's not hard at all.. Up there with a lab and golden retiever. My mom's, who is DT/Hound, is at an 7-8 for trainability, and he's got the dummy hound mixed in. They really are great dogs, one that I myself would like to own one day.

Good luck!

What dog should I get?

I decided to have a dog, now that I have my own place and I've narrowed it down to 7 races. I can exercise and the groom to the extent they need and I have experience with dogs, but I can not decide what breed to get. Can you tell me some information about each of the races and I should get (I get 2)? ~ ~ Cardigan Corgi Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Welsh Coton de Tulear ~ German Shepherd ~ ~ ~ ~ Irish Setter Labrador Retriever Papillon also what is your favorite? I will look into shelters and have no preference among purebred dogs and stray dogs, but I want a dog to be perhaps a mixture of two there? I do not know, and I'm looking for nothing more than a pet dog

My favorites on the list are the labs and shepherds. Great personalities of both, but they are big dogs and They need to be well trained. Shep also tend to have hip problems that can sometimes be expensive with vet bills. good luck
