I brought a pup recently but is registered to canine ireland..anyone know about this?
I live in ireland and i recently bought a pup from a breeder so that in the future I could use the dog as a stud dog.I was told on the day he was registered and the papers would be sent to me in my name. I specifically asked was the pup registered by the IKC and was told he was.The papers arrived today but they are registered by canine ireland not the Irish Kennel Club.
I rang the breeder today and was told to send the papers back and he will re register the dog with the IKC. Does anyone know if this can be done or am I being scammed? Are there any breeders on here that might have some advice?
i really dunno, i've only had one experience buying a "pedigree" pup all my other dogs are rescues. the breeder i bought off had the IKC papers there on the spot with him and handed them over immediately, i didn't have to wait to have them posted. it does sound a bit suspicious, can u register the same dog twice??? i doubt it. u should ask also to see the parents IKC papers, normally breeders are proud to show the family blood lines. i got a full family tree history with mine back to great grandparents. i live in Galway, Ireland. i just checked and canine ireland is a nationwide registry for pedigree breeds so u could be ok. i'm keeping my fingers crossed for u
