Lakeland Terrier Dog Breeders Q&A
so called border terrier?
I bought a dog 4 months ago thinking it was a Border terrier, i saw the bitch sure enough true border now cody is looking more and more like a Lakeland i asked the breeder i got him off and he now says its possible a lakeland terrier could be the father, the whole family loves him and he,s part of the family now, I was wondering what sort of temperment he,s going to have later, its just i heard lakeland x borders can be very very vicious, Yes i know its how you bring them up but heard this sort of x is a bad mix, anybody got a lakeland x border and what they like
This is a Border Lakeland mix. His description doesn't say that hes a bad dog.

Lakeland Terrier Dog Breeders Q&A
my dog wants to sleep outside?
We have an 8 month old Lakeland Terrier from a breeder we have 7 months. Since he returned home he wants to sleep outdoors. At first was a box in the laundry, but walked up and down and cried and moaned. When I opened the door for a pee out of it came to our carpet and snuggled and went to sleep in our covered outdoor area. Then he tried to bed and left out of the box. He loved it as soon as you let out one morning entered his cage, curled up and slept until morning. We've been leaving him out of last week, but we feel bad. I also wanted a family dog that lived with us on the inside but is not interested in being slapped. In fact, it seems that bother you and pinched. HELP
Hello, you are probably used Lakeland to be outside and has never been domesticated. Many breeders (I'm not one of them), just keep breeding their dogs in cages and runs and never get to be allowed inside home with the family, or maybe just a very short time once a day if they are lucky. I once had a Lakeland Terrier comes from a breeder. I could never housetrain than suffering from separation anxiety and not only stop urinating inside every time I close a door between her and me. I had to reassign to the final. Let your sleep LT in the open because they feel more comfortable. Give him some time to first really feel comfortable with your outdoor area and just be near you, and then start to feed on the inside. What they want and eventually get used to your home and can come and go. Just give him time, because some farmers may have exdogs some problems of adaptation to a real family life. It will happen, but not in a hurry.
