Mid Boxer Rescue Q&A

How to find a new home for a dog?

We have a 9 month old boxer/husky mix, who we really enjoy, however we have a problem:
She is not good with babies/young children, and we just found out that my wife is pregnant.
This means that we have to find our dog a new home, but we are having trouble finding someone good to take her in. We have her information in with some of the rescue groups in the area, but I'm hoping that someone in the Mid-Michigan area might have some other ideas or leads.
I've thought of maybe finding a trainer, but at this point it's more of a peace of mind issue for my wife.
If somehow the training didn't take, then the first sign might be her acting aggressively... the dog just isn't as important as the baby, and we want to get her a good home while she's still young.

You could have a temperment test done on your dog - that might ease your wife's worries. Contact your local humane society to find out who can perform this test.

Beth Spanski with Diamonds in the Ruff training is WONDERFUL! She may be able to help you to train your dog so you don't need to get rid of her.
