When should a your puppy start getting shots and vaccines?
I have a 6 week year old puppy, and it was given to me by my friend whose dog had babies. YES I DO KNOW PUPPIES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WITH THEIR MOTHERS atleast untill 8-10 weeks of age, but my friend could afford, or didn't had time to look after all the puppes. (He wasn't a breeder, but before he got to have his dog spayed, his dog got pregnant) So I already got all of the things nessasary for a puppy, and I got her an appointment next week at a vet. I would just like to know what are some nessasary shots.
The puppy is a chihuahua, pomeranian, miniature american eskimo mix.

First shots 6 wks, then 9 wks, 12 wks shots should be finished including rabies. Depending on the laws in your state it could be 16 wks.
So if she will be 7 wks when you get to the vet, you will need to go back when she is 10wks, then 13 wks.
The first and 2nd shots are for DHLPP distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvo virus and that is also the 3rd shot at 12 wks along with the Rabies.
