Dog Troubles???
okay so i have three dogs. an Australian Shephard, a miniature Australian Shepherd, and a Pug puppy. They all keep running off. I live in the country so its easier to find them but how do i get them to stop? My biggest problem is my Australian Shepherd jumps the fence in our back yard. Help, Please!! Thanks!
oh and the australian shepherd is addicted to water and we have pivots around our house so thats mainly why she jumps. the other two just follow her wherever she goes.
You mention your dog is addicted to water and hops the fence to get to the pivots. Have you thought about placing a large bucket or trough outside filled with water to detour her desire to wander?
If that doesn't work, it may simply be because the shepherd has wander lust. I had an Akita that used to hop the fence and walk up and down the street from house to house to sniff the flowers. He never chased a person or animal...he just wanted to sniff things. We ended up getting a shock collar which allowed us to shock him when ready to jump, and after 3 (small) shocks, he never jumped the fence again.
