Breeder that breeds more than one dog safe?
I am looking at buying a pug from a breeder that currently breeds chihuahuas, english bulldogs, french bulldogs, shih-tzus, Yorkshire terrier's and pugs. She also sells miniature horses. I know this is a huge amount of animals but she doesn't seem to have a ton of puppies, she said they are raised in home and have a one year health guarantee, I am also planning on visiting her home / breeding grounds before purchasing a pug from her. When I figure found her pug site from the pug breeders association the dog I was interested in was $900, it has since gone to $700, and now $600. Does this mean she has seen the dog might have health problems? I really want to buy this pug but want some opinions if she would be a smart buy! Thanks!

No, this doesn't at all sound like a reputable breeder to me.
Prices with good breeders are firm, they are that expensive for a reason -- they don't go on "sale" in order to get rid of the puppy more quickly, which sounds like this person is doing.
And that is WAY too many breeds she's into. What is her site? Could you link it? I would be able to tell you in no time if I could see it, but it already sounds to me like this "breeder" is bad news.

It's a BYB or puppy mill. What questions exactly did you ask that she was able to answer for you? Some BYBs have become very good at telling buyers what they want to hear, but that doesn't make them any more reputable.
If you are having a hard time finding a good pug breeder with puppies in your area, you need to either wait until a good breeder DOES have puppies, or since you're against shipping pups you might consider traveling to get a puppy from a good breeder elsewhere. Resorting to this BYB is not the answer; you shouldn't support unethical breeding practices just because you want a puppy right now.

It says nowhere on the site that she tests her breeding stock for hereditary diseases. Is that something you asked her about?

my 4 month old English bulldog weighs 11 pounds?
My husband and I have a 4 month old AKC English Bulldog. We've bought for $ 2000 from a breeder. The vet did a health check (2 times), and no has said nothing about his low weight. Is this the weight of a little less? I think it must weigh at least 24 pounds. She is not a thumbnail (which we were told). She eats at a time (3 times a day) about 1 and 3 / 4 cup each meal. Any help is appreciated.
Wow ... which is a kind of small. We have a man nearly nine weeks (well, go to new owners tomorrow) anyway, vet weighed him today and already weighs 12.6 lbs ... I could not believe it. Maybe she has a fast metabolism ... females are slightly smaller ... but yeah, that's something small for her age.
