I'm interested in getting a smooth coat mini dachshund from a reputable breeder. Can you help me out?
I am interested buying a smooth coat miniature dachshund. I am particularly interested in the dapple red or dapple blue coat colors; however we will not discriminate against any other colors =)
I know of a few doxie rescues in N. California (golden gate doxie rescue and another which I just happen to forget the name...) but they do not have any dogs available at the moment. I searched on google for breeders for mini doxies but there seem to not be many litters at the moment.
So the question is: If you bought or adopted a mini short haired doxie from a good breeder, do you have their info so that I can get in touch with them? If you know of any reputable breeders, you can also let me know. If you happen to be a breeder of mini doxies, feel free to leave your website or email too!
Any tips, info, or rants/raves about doxies can also be left. I want to learn more about them before I buy/adopt!!!

I got a wonderful doxie from Porth Kennels in Lexington, SC..one of the most beautiful facilities I have ever seen. I lived out of state but I drove down to visit personally. My dog is absolutely wonderful. I have had several kinds of dogs but doxies are unique..as they own you...and your house. This is my fourth one...I think once you have had one thats it. I had my first one 17 years. I have one now that is 12 years old and now our baby who is 2. DO make sure you go to a reputable breeder to hopefully avoid back issues...We have been very fortunate so far. There are all kinds of websites for dachshund lovers all over the net...we are nuts about our babies! Hope you find yours soon!
