Labs dogs help please!
Okay i live in Peoria Illinois and i want to get a lab i might get it from a shelter but i heard buying it from a breeder is better but there aren't any lab breeders in Peoria Illinois. I really need help if you know of any Lab breeders in my area or around my area answer this and answer my question about where its better to buy a lab puppy shelter breeder or pet shop?
DO NOT BUY FROM A PETSHOP, YOU WILL BE SUPPORTING PUPPY MILLS.
If you want a pedigreed, health tested, champion labrador by all means find a COE breeder. This is a breeder who health tests their dogs, shows their dogs to make sure they are great specimens for their breed, before they breed them. You will pay pretty good, but will probably get a great dog.
If you want a pet, why not get one from the shelter. There are so many dogs in the shelters, many of them are labs. Really an excessive number of labs are in shelters. I think because when they have litters, the litters are usually very large. Anyway, please consider rescuing a dog from a shelter. They even have purebred pedigreed dogs in shelters from time to time. Some irresposible person buys the dog and doesn't bother to train it, get's tired of it chewing digging etc and takes it to the pound. Great dog, bad owner. Give them another chance.
Don't buy while shelter dogs die.
