I have a Bugg (pug/boston terrier mix) and?

If she gets excited she starts choking and gasping, normally we just make her lay on her back and rub her chest and it stops. But today she has been doing it all day and the rubbing is not helping.
What could be causing this?
Maureen..JFYI..I did not breed the parents to get a designer dog.. I rescued her from a lady who was losing her home.
She is 2 1/2 years old. We have had her about 6 mos.
She has an appointment for the vet tomorrow. Although she has been to the vet several times and has checked out OK.
It is not reverse sneezing, my son has a chihuahua that does that..

You should consult your vet. Breeds such as Pugs, Boston Terriers, Bulldogs, etc- can have brachycephalic syndrome. The shape of their face & skulls makes breathing difficult. Often medication is helpful, and sometimes surgery is needed to widen the air passages:
