When is the best time to breed your female pug after she goes in heat?
For you? never. If you don't know the answer to such a basic question, then you should not be breeding your dogs. Thousands of poor quality pugs are given up to rescues each year because of breeders like you. Get your animals fixed and don't contribute to this. You are violating the guidelines of the AKC and the ethics of the Pug Club of America. Please, rethink this and don't become a Backyard Breeder or a Puppy mill. With 2-5 million animals being killed in shelters each year, we don't need more pet quality dogs bred by bad breeders.

I have a pug and there is plenty of medical condition that comes with the race (though fortunately not been hired or inherited by my pug) here's a short list: 1. KCS - Keratoconjunctivitis sicca - or "eye dry "2. dysplasia of the hip and elbow 3. thyroid 4. genetic eye disease 5. atopy, canine version of hay fever 6. brachycephalic syndrome, where the airways have some kind of obstruction caused by the shape of the head and face and the heart and lungs have to work harder than normal to the dog to breathe 7. demodicosis, where skin mites causes irritation to the skin and is believed to be a compromise of the immune system 8. Entropion, a swing towards inside of the eyelid that causes scratches on the surface of the eye 9. skin fold dermatitis (facial and tail fold), where the skin is a chronic infection or irritation in the folds, 10. necrotizing meningoencephalitis (Pug Dog Encephalitis, PDE), which may or may not be inherited, it affects 1-2% of all pugs. There is no known cure. 10. Pugs are also affected by the "sick sinus syndrome, which is irregular, and XX sex investment, resulting in hermaphrodites, with bodies Pugs male and female sex. 11. Cataracts, distichiasis (extra eyelashes growing on the inner edge of the eyelid) 12. Legg-Calve-Perthes disease (a disease of the hip joint where the joint degenerates, causing pain and lameness)
