What's the average price for a pug puppy?
My wife and I recently went to the home of a pug breeder who is listed on the AKC/Pug Dog Club of America's website. We were very happy with her premises, treatment and knowledge of the animals, and success as a breeder of show dogs. Plus, we could tell that she really cared for her dogs. We paid a deposit to hold one of the puppies since they are only two weeks old. The total cost will come to $1,800. Is this too much to pay for the pug? We know some people who paid half as much, but we are wary of their breeders (one person brought her puppies home at 4 weeks).
Too much, unless your going to show or breed (female) the dog. They can cost more.
