What's the deal with these 'designer' dogs?
I don't get what the big rage is about these 'designer' mutts.
Someone please explain to me why people would pay over $200 for a dog with no breed standard, no record of health issues, and no chance of being registered with the AKC? Why would people pay over $1,000 for them? Anyone could take a grade Yorkshire Terrier and cross it with any other small dog..

Sometimes, expensive can mean good.
When you pay $1000 for a puppy and get an AKC eligible pup from very strong show lines, a two year health guarantee, and the assurance that your dog meets the breed standard.. That's a well-spent $1000.
I wouldn't. If I were going to get a mutt, I'd find a free one on freecycle or craigslist (got two amazing dogs that way) or at the shelter.
