Rottweilers More Than Dogs..... True friends !!

Rottweiler Breeder Q&A

What do you think of this Rottweiler breeder? Reputable or not?

Here is the website: http://www.vomdrakkenfels.com/

All opinions and thoughts welcome, thank you.

And for those of you who are going to scold me for wanting to buy a purebred dog, all my pets are rescues.
sue - Click on "Our Dogs." Then click on Males, Females, Youths, or Litters to see their dogs. I've never bought a dog from a breeder before, so I don't know much about pedigrees and titles. Forgive my ignorance on these matters.

A big flashy website with lots of "borrowed" articles but where are the proper photos of their own dogs along with pedigrees, titles and health certificates?

They breed b1itches consecutive heats which is not something I condone and with five litters last year I would expect more photos or more about their breeding set up and aims.
Edit - looked again. If they are so good why are they using a dodgy registry;- http://www.iabca.com/registrationform.html is pretty much on a par with Con KC as it is not a recognised national kennel club but a scheme to make for easy titles. These are to impress puppy buyers but a huge red flag for anyone actively involved in dogs.

Certainly one to avoid IMO.

Rottweiler Breeder Q&A

Looking for Rottweiler breeders in my area?

I'm located in San Jose Ca and I want to buy a rottweiler and I'm willing to drive a little to get the best puppy. Please help.

Since I own Rottweilers, I'll go here ... Rottweilers are not for everyone. This is a lifetime commitment and responsibility. Puppies are demanding and require 100% of his time. Obedience classes are a necessity. And they are expensive to maintain the race. Please ask yourself these questions before you dive head: 1. Where is the puppy / sleep? Rottweilers are not a race that take place outside away from their humans, who need human contact, so prepare an area in your home for a box. 2. Can you handle a lot of dog hair? Rottweilers can be a short-haired breed, but shed twice a year and shed A LOT! 3. Who will by the puppy while at work / school? How many hours per day to be left alone? 4. Do you have enough money aside not only for the cost of the puppy but for necessities such as vaccines, heartworm prevention food, good quality, necklaces, belts, etc? On average, a responsible breeder producer, Rottweiler as a pet is about $ 800. For a show / breeding quality puppy, $ 1400. (It is also preparing to sign a contract for protection of the dog, and yourself.) 5. Are you familiar with the laws in your city / state regarding the property Rottweiler? Unfortunately, many areas Rottweilers have been banned or any other breeds considered dangerous. Or it may be forced to pay higher city license fees or take out additional insurance homeowners to have a race. 6. Do you have a fenced in yard or a secure area for dogs to play and exercise? Rottweilers are exuberant, the puppies have boundless energy .... 7. What is your understanding of the Rottweiler breed? Did you know that race (in it's earliest form) was used to drive? O is known as the butcher "Dog", as they were strong enough to pull the chariot of the flesh, however, sufficient protection to ward off thieves .. Rottweilers are a multiple funcitonal race. They thrive when given a job to do and put in the time and effort to train their full potential. As for finding a good breeder reputation, stay away from Petfinder and the like. When you find one, be prepared to answer a questionnaire puppy ... good breeders want the best home possible for their puppies and want to make sure they go to a forever home. Also be prepared to sign a contract / health guarantee. A reputable breeder guarantees the dog against hip dysplasia and all other genetic diseases. We also guarantee to take the puppy back for any reason, if you are unable to maintain it. Good reputable breeder will have all the permits and health certificates of both the father and mother, which should include: OFA certified for hips (rated good or excellent), OFA certificates for elbows, certification examinations annually for heart and eyes ..... A reputable breeder will be there for you if you any questions or need help with your dog. (Backyard breeders and the like will take your money and run) A reputable breeder who have demonstrated their breeding stock, either in the formation (Champion), obedience, herding, or sometimes a combination of both. Finally, do not be afraid to ask quesitons! A reputable breeder has nothing to hide and will more than happy to provide copies of pedigrees, health certificates, pictures, awards, references, etc ... But be prepared to answer more questions you ask. Please take the time to visit the American Rottweiler Club's website. No relevant information on training, health problems, and the like. Rottweiler puppies are cute, but to become powerful, sometimes rebellious adults. Make sure you take the time to educate themselves before deciding if this magnificent breed is right for you. Good luck!
