Newfoundlander/Saint Bernard Dog, not playing.?

She is 1 and half years old, she refuses to play. Just lie around all day waiting for her walks. I have two other dogs that play fetch, one runs around with a toy in her month almost 24/7. I really like this dog, besides all the drool How can I get this dog to play or is she fine just going for two-three walks a day (With a back pack on)
She walks with a backpack, Because she knows thats her job, walking with the water. She gets all happy when she sees the backpack, so why not. She a working dog breed, thats her job.
*Teach it how to play*, um I have been trying. As I said I have two other dogs that will play. "And she is not a it."

LOL Newfie's and Saint's don't typically do much of anything, so I am quite surprised and impressed that she will go for three walks per day. They're generally lazy bone dogs who need one good walk per day to keep them healthy. It's not abnormal that she lies around all day. I have a 13 month old Mastiff that does the same. Keep in mind she is going to be growing for another year, and puppies sleep a lot!

Also, Giants aren't retrievers....if you throw a ball to them they'll grab it and won't understand your frustration in wanting them to bring it back to you. They pretty much think "If he wanted it, why did he give it to me", and trot on their merry way. LOL Gotta love em'!
