What remnants of English culture were you surprised to find when you visited the US?
We learn in school about the founding of America by English colonists. I am curious what vestiges of England remain in America, other than language (yes, I know; we speak American, LOL!). I specifically mention England because I know that the United Kingdom also includes Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. When you visited America, what cultural similarities surprised you?
When I first visited America to be honest I was not surprised by any particular cultural similarities, I expected those as we share a language and some history. My feeling was how familiar everything seemed, I had been so exposed to US TV and film growing up I knew so much before I even arrived.
