What age does the second coat come in on a Shih Tzu?
We recently bought a AKC registered Shih Tzu. We have reason to belive our puppy is actually a Maltese, as he is twelve weeks old, white, and is not showing any signs of developing a second coat. Also, his facial features are more sharper than the shih tzu. Also, the breeder mentioned she bred Maltese. How easy is it to misrepresent to AKC the actual breed of dog?
Wow! She could have sold you anything really. All she would have to do is apply for puppy papers and listing the parents (which might not be the real ones).
Did you see the parents? Did the puppy look like them? Did you see the others in the litter? Did they look like shih-tzus?
I would love to see a photo of the puppy. I guess that is the only way to tell for sure.
