Silky Terrier Dog Breeders Q&A

What are the consequences for breeding a 15 lb. male with a 4 lb. female dog of the same breed?

I have a neighbor that has a silky terrier. A female that is 4 lbs. and her mom has a male that is on the bigger size, he is 15 lbs. She told me that her female was coming into heat and she was thinking of breeding them together. I advised her that this was a bad idea...just look at the size difference!! But, when she asked about the possible consequences I did not have an answer. Her mom really wants to breed them. Can you please give me a list of the possible consequences. Please be as brutally frank as possible. I would really appreciate a breeders expertise. I really want to be able to talk her out of it. Thanks.
Yes, i just confirmed that they both are yorkies...sorry.
Both male and female are over two years of age.
Wow...thanks for all the answers. That was fast. I will have her check them out and hopefully they will make her see that breeding them is not in the best interest of the dogs. Thanks again!!

Firstly, breeding a larger male to a smaller female generally causes larger puppies which will require the female to either need a C-section at best (hope you got a couple thousand laying around), or possibly death to her and all pups at worst.
Another note is that the female is considered fairly small and just inside of the breed standard (4 pounds is the smallest), and the male is too big according to breed standard (7 pounds should be the biggest).
In trying to breed either of these dogs this individual will become a back yard breeder (due to these simply being pet quality animals quite obviously)- an individual despised by dog savvy individuals and one of the biggest causes of the dog overpopulation issue and the reason so many shelter dogs are put down every day.
Neither of these dogs are breeding quality, this individual does not have the know how to breed, and if these dogs are loved or cared about at all both should be fixed.

Add:
Information fixed to reflect Yorkie breed standard rather than Silky Terrier due to the correction.

Add:
Just thought I would add this as their seems to be some confusion going on:
Yorkies are generally between 4 and 7 pounds- Making the female's weight rather small, and the male's far too large.
Silk terriers are between 8 and 11 pounds- Making the female's weight far too small, and the male's still too large.

I also found this note which I thought may be of help to you:
"Many breeders prefer a general weight range of 4-7 four pounds believing that size retains desired Toy qualities while maintaining optimum health. The Yorkie Standard states weight "must not exceed seven pounds" and as a prospective pet owner you should realize that even at 7 pounds, the Yorkie is still a small dog. (Females weighing less than 5 pounds are considered by most breeders to be unsuitable for breeding.)"
This is dirrectly from the Yorkshire Club of America:
