What kind of dog is best for me?
So, I'm getting a dog but we can't decide on one. Here are the things that the dog needs to be ab;e to tolerate and what it has to live around and stuff, ect. :
1) kids ages: 13, 11, 6, 3
2) Good with kids
3) weather : Minnesota, hot & cold
4) SMALL dog, has to be 1 foot or smaller
5) cannot be prone to back problems
6) short coat, medium to no shedding
7) pretty color, cute
uh, purebred probably cuz mixed are hard to find
9) playful, entergetic
10) not lazy
Also, where in Minnesota is a shelter or something for me to get the dog you recommended, or a breeder cuz my mom says that she doesn't want a dog from a shelter cuz you don't no their background. So also maybe a good breeder or something.
My last request is a quiz I can take that will help decide to. I need a LONG quiz. like 50 questions or more, extensive. One that is very accurate with tons of dogs for results. I already to the one at Eureka or wat evar it is. Thanks!
You just described our family situation and the dog we have. A Puggle. A Puggle is a hybrid created by breeding a purebred male Pug and purebred female Beagle. They can be small to very small depending on the size of the parents. Ours will probably be 10-15 pounds full grown....his parents were 12 pounds each. You can get them from bigger parents, 20-30 pounds. He is playful, eneretic at times, snuggly at times, smart, has a great personallity, and loving to the whole family. He has short hair. I have heard they can shed a little, but ours hasn't shed at all.
We used to live in MN so I know what you're talking about weather-wise. We live in Montana now and know all about freezing weather here too. He did just fine. We take him out to go potty, and the only time it was an issue is when the snow was deeper than his belly...lol
