It's not a designer dog, it's a sport dog?
A lot of people have been buying BorderStaffies (BC/Staffordshire bull terrier crosses) and BorderStacks (one parent a BorderStaffie and the other parent a BC/Jack russell cross). The dogs are bred for sports such as agility, flyball, and dock-diving, pretty much dog sports.
The breeders do the same health testing as they would do with purebreds and really aren't in it for the money.
What is your opinion on these "sport mutts"?

My opinion.....
There are so many dogs at our shelter, that could be a sports dog, mutts and some purebreds, we have 3 BC right now in the shelter,,,purebreds, too hyper to handle and that is why the previous owner gave them up, they said they could not handle the hyper mode as she put it..now, these 3 gorgeous dogs sit and wait for a good home....
Designer mutts for sports, nope, they are breeding when it is not necessary, go adopt, go to a local Dog Rescue Club, but please don't breed more babies to be shoved into a system that cannot find homes for dogs now....
They breeders can tell you all they want, I test all my dogs, and they are bred from 2 pure breeds, so what, they are still mixes, mutts, pure and simple...and so many won't make the grade to do the sports, then where do they go, on the streets, shelters where they do put them down due to over crowding.
I am sorry, I think this is greed for money and nothing else, no respectable breeder will breed to make designer dogs for sports, will not produce mutts to be put out in the cold, if they are not good enough to do the job...
