Question about...?
Just out of curiousity I was wondering if CKC stands for Canadian Kennel Club? I go to the flea market and you see dogs left and right registered in the CKC...but I don't live ANYWHERE near Canada. I know AKC stands for American Kennel Club, so is CKC an easier registry to get into and that is why all the dogs at the flea market get registered in it, and the AKC is more strict with registrants b/c the parents also have to be registered?

obviously I don't buy dogs from the flea market I just feel bad for them D; but that explains alot alot of them look nothing like the breed they are said to be (haha I remember a "Yorkiepoo" that looked more like a Beagle in my opinion) but thanks that just explains alot of things lol.
The Canadian Kennel Club is known as the CKC, but so is the Continental Kennel Club. The Canadian Kennel Club is the equivalent to the American Kennel Club, and it has very strict standards for admission.
The continental kennel club is misleading, the Canadian KC was founded first and the Continental club doesn't seem to care that they are passing themselves off as this reputable club. You can register any dog with the continental kennel club, you do not need a pedigree, and you do not need to do any DNA testing to prove parentage. They do not regulate their breeders in any way, and they register certain breeds of dogs which have not yet been accepted into the AKC or CKC. (Ex. The cane corso has just been accepted by the AKC to their FCC list, but the ConKC registers them).
If these dogs are recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club, they are able to be registered with the AKC as well. If they are Continental Kennel Club they cannot be.
