Timing For Dog Breeding Q&A
When people say a dog breed is not for first time breeders, can you explain what they mean?
Do they mean that you shouldn't own the breed period or you should experience other breeds before starting out with that breed?
I am going to be first time dog owner and I have already settled on getting a Husky this Wednesday.
Well it means that it is a breed that takes a dog owner with savy that comes only from prior ownership of dogs.
I am sorry you have chosen a Siberian Husky for your first dog.
Obviously you have picked the dog because of its looks.
Siberians are NOT for first time dog owners.
I know I had them for 24 yeras.
I would suggest an easier breed for your first dog.
One that is easier to train.
Not inclined to do whatever it takes to escape.
One without such a strong prey drive.

Timing For Dog Breeding Q&A
How important is a dog breed?
My family is set to get a Siberian Husky, I have heard many responded here that are not permitted for the first time dog owners. I want to know if, as a family we work together and work hard in training the dog and if we spend time with the dog, is it possible for us to overcome the barrier dog breed? Alaskan Malamute is the second option, you definitely want a dog with the types of looks.
really need to research your family race. Too many people get because they are cute, but really is not an easy dog to live. For most people, they make very poor pets. Pour .. much. They shed all year, and twice a year shot his cloak and covered more. dog hair is a condiment, and also home decor. If you do not like dog hair all over your clothes, furniture and carpets .. do not get a husky .. They need much exercise in fact, could probably give a husky a good 3 hours of exercise day, and probably still would be ready for more! If your family is not active or outdoor people .. even when it's cold! Do not get a husky They are not at all .. that talk just to hear about them! They bark, whine whine, and make a variety of sounds .. if you want a quiet dog, do not leave a husky! Are smart very smart dog .. but not obedient dogs. This is a "what's for me?" type of dog. If you think your stoopid hoarse cookie is not enough kind of a reward, the husky is not going to sit or come when called to do so. If you want an obedient dog, do not get a husky! They are escape artists! You can NEVER trust in a husky off leash .. NEVER! I love to go to run, play and explore .. I told you are smart .. and a husky to find a way to unlock the door .. Had a husky mix who discovered how to open the trunk (the button was on the center console) to my car and then down the back of the back seat to escape the trunk .. he did like my husband was driving! That was a very scary! Therefore, if you want a trustworthy dog, do not get a husky! They are friendly dogs when socialized .. can be very friendly. But they are definantly not guard dogs. If an intruder into his house, a husky probably say hello, see if you have a goodie, then check out the broken door or window of oppourtunity to escape. If you want a good watch dog .. Do not get a husky!
