Toronto Animal Shelter Q&A
Do you think it's right to kill all animals in a shelter do to an aggressive strain of ringworm?
This is what the OSPCA wants to do. (Ontario, Canada).

I think it's ridiculous.
Suffer? Ringworm doesn't make the animals suffer until it has progressed extensively. It is easily treated by antibiotics. Do some research.
No it's not right and it is utterly ridiculous. It's not like the dogs and cats had broken limbs or something. A dog or cat can have ringworm for months and their caretakers not even notice. It doesn't make them "suffer." It's horrible what the OSPCA did. I heard they already killed 350 of the animals. The ringworm outbreak should have never happened. They should have properly screened the animal that came in with the ringworm. And it's such a shame too because that bulding of the OSPCA (Newmarket) does low cost spay/neuter operations. I wonder how many people's pets who were coming in to get fixed, now are "broken" with ringworm?! Sick

Toronto Animal Shelter Q&A
I have a question about a cat?
I live in Toronto, Ontario and volunteer at an animal shelter, but are just not cats. One problem theres this cat that gets along well with other cats and people. He has attacked and bitten by some people and get into fights with other cats. Many people are afraid of it but nobody wants to adopt and that no cats so we should do? Also there's no separate room for the cat for a small place of refuge.
Well, since housing does not put cats down I would call the newspaper and put a story about it or get a commercial for the Humane Society or something. The media can miracles. Also, think about why you are reacting that way. Is something bothering him? Are you stressed about something near it? It's probably experiences the past, but do not overlook anything anyway. Try to be kind to him. When you begin to teach people, do it in a quiet place with no other animals or people. (You can also talk to other shelters and ask if they have those looking for a cat like this.) Poor thing .... good luck !!!!!!!!
