Train A Blue Heeler Q&A
Where do I get started on training my pup to do agility?
Does anybody have any advice on how I can get started on training my 1yr old Blue Heeler to start doing agility courses?
Also; is there a required weight range that the dog has to be in agility courses? She was the runt of the litter therefore she is alot smaller than our other Heeler.
We have a dog park that has all of the agility equipment to get started and I would love to do agility with her. Thanks
Here is a link that will help you find a trainer or agility club:

I recommend taking a class before doing the equipment on your own, that way you know the correct/safe way to approach the equipment so your dog doesn't get injured.
A good foundation in obedience is also very helpful.

No, there isn't a size/weight range. All sizes of dogs from chihuahuas to great danes can do agility.
The course is set up based on your dog's height at the withers (top of shoulder blade.) Your dog will only be competing against dogs of similar size.
Dogs should be 1 year old to start training for agility. You don't want to put unnecessary stress on growing joints and bones.

Best of luck! Agility can be tons of fun for both you and your dog!

Train A Blue Heeler Q&A
how to train my 3 blue heeler month?
I have a blue heeler three months, and she was given to us. Recently I've been trying to train, but she just did not move! He does not like the belt at all and has no intention to walk on it, so i always have to be pulling, or standing in one place for 30 minutes! Does anyone have any good advice on the shape of the train But whenever we walk around the house with the leash and brew, she starts barking and going crazy? What should I do? She is also a mixture. Black lab blue heeler
Make sure you are used to bring the first collar. When I leash trained my dogs, I always loosen the neck a bit and then attach the strap. I felt like the belt was just there, and they were just trotting beside me. Little by little, I would make the back of neck tension normal walking. It also helps the puppy to walk around the house much on the leash and collar to adapt to the feeling of both.
