Puppy anxious about impending birth of our first child?

OK this might seem like a weird question...I have a pure bred Scottish West Highland White Terrier. We got her in mid-September and she was potty trained completely within three weeks. I have been pregnant ever since we got her. Well, the baby is due here in 3 days--or so they tell me!--and our puppy has been acting strange. She has reverted to going to the bathroom inside. And she is acting clingy with me like she did when we first got her. For example, she ignores my husband (who is usually her favorite) and runs to me and just wants to be held. I also think her energy level seems down a bit. I have been keeping an eye on her because I was worried that she is sick, but a friend last night suggested that she might be anxious of the impending birth of our baby. I know cats can be weird about change that way, but I have never heard of a dog doing this nor can I find anything online. Anyone been through this before? Any advice on what I can do if this is the case? Thanks a million!

I am having the same problems with my pup. She is 10 months old and we have had her since she was a baby. I am 17 weeks pregnant and ever since I got pregnant, she has been awful. She is just the opposite though, she rips apart everything when we aren't home. The other night I went to bed early and shut the bedroom door because my husband, our son, and my husband's brother were still up playing XBox. I left the dog out of the bedroom. Well when my brother-in-law left and my husband came to bed I got up to pee, and Layla (the dog), ran in the bedroom and pissed in the middle of the bed. She is so spiteful and jealous now. I think dogs have a sense also just like cats. Now as far as what to do about it...I would suggest making sure that your pup knows you still love her and giving her some extra attention. When the baby is born, she will have problems adjusting, but if she was well-behaved before, then I am sure she will revert back to being well-behaved again. Good Luck!! Congrats on your baby!!
