I need a yorkshire terrier for christmas. Can anyone help?
I promised my girlfriend a dog for christmas, and she wants a yorkshire terrier puppy. If there are any breeders out there, plz help. I live in southern california. willing to travel a bit for the puppy
If you are going to get your girlfriend a dog for Christmas, I would suggest waiting until the holiday is over before you bring it home. There is so much commotion around the holidays for people- it would be even worse for a dog in a new, strange environment. Plus, with all of the festivities, who has time to take the puppy out every hour, walk it, and give it attention? A good idea would be to get your girlfriend some things associated with the puppy on Christmas- a leash, dishes, toys, etc, to prepare her for the gift she is going to recieve.
And I agree with most people. Instead of getting your girlfriend an outlandishly expensive dog from a breeder, you should try shelters or rescue groups. Rescuing a dog would be more in the holiday spirit than almost anything. Plus, a puppy is a very large responsibility. The idea of one seems very appealing, but the reality is less glamorous. Think about how much free time your girlfriend has- maybe an older dog would fit her lifestyle better? Either way, just make sure you think it through and that the decision you make is best for not just your girlfriend, but the dog as well.
